Conceptual design, not selected for Honoraria Grant
13’ wide, 20’ long, 7’ tall
Construction details:
Wings framed by 3x3/16" curved steel flat bar, with 2½x⅛" internal reinforcement ribs & ½” base plates with ½” holes for 4’ lag bolts
Three 3x3" square box tube beams run through the body, with end-plates bolting to the underside of the wings
The body is a cage frame of ⅛" curved steel round bar, with 16ga. lasered steel & bronze/copper scrap metal brazed on top
The panels are CNCed ¾” milled redwood/oak, 16ga. sheet metal, & leaves in ¼” UV resin
Eyes made of safety mirrors
Touch reactive panels in the wings’ eyes cause LEDs along body to pulse with light
Hidden worlds inset into four eyes on her wings depict vignettes from Neoma’s life
