Project Description/Components
See More HQ is the newest exhibit on display at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz, CA (UC Santa Cruz). The exhibit spans the length of one ~35ft wall, packed with a multitude of interactive display cases, activity boards, data maps, and video & audio stations. Paired with an artistic background of water-jet cypress cutouts of local forest & marine life, this HQ station is meant to be a multipurpose setup that helps the discover center facilitate events & hands-on learning opportunities.
Personal Contribution
Metal fabrication of:
Six monitor bezels using press break, MIG welder, sand-blaster, and various hand-tools
Three brackets for 9 spinning display case boxes, with the ability to disassemble for ease of installation
Dry-fit, manual shaping, and clear coating of cypress wood cutouts
Rigging, transport, and on-site installation of structural, visual, interactive, components, as well as AV assistance
Mounting of display case items using museum paste & custom metal bracket fabrication
Final walkthrough meeting with design team & clients for touch-ups & change orders
Point-person for return visits & final exhibit sign-off
