“Energetic” - Sycamore Park, TX (In Progress)
Project Description/Components
“Energetic” is inspired by the intersection of athletics and nature in the Sycamore Park/Ft. Worth area. The sculpture features words and phrases from the local residents recorded from sessions that Blessing Hancock did with the community.
Personal Contribution
Bending of 1/4” tubing through industrial tube roller to specific degree requirements, cutting pieces to length and arranging within CNC cut jig
Heat-forming all 32 twisted panels (using oxy-acetylene torch), fitting up, and tack welding into place
Primary MIG & TIG welder responsible for structural/finish welds on panel-panel and panel-tube connections
QA and finish grinding/blending/DA
Setting up temporary finish/painting room for polycarbonate coating & intricate masking
Installation on-site
